It is interesting to know – the Balkans
Neanderthals inhabited the territory of the Balkan Peninsula approximately 72,000 years ago and lived there until 34,000 BC. Their remains were found near the Croatian town of Krapina, the Peloponnese region in Greece and the Bacho Kiro cave in Bulgaria.
Approximately in 34,000 BC Neanderthals were replaced by Homo sapiens. The oldest remains of Homo Sapiens were found in Romania.
